Egerton University staff presents at a World Swine conference in the United States

Malanda Joab is a technologist in the Department of Animal Sciences at Egerton University. He is currently a final year masters student at University of Debrecen, Hungary pursuing an Msc Animal Husbandry with scholarship from Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. His research work was selected for presentation at the 2019 Allen D.Leman Swine conference in St Paul MN, United States organized by University of Minnesota. The swine conference is an annual educational event for the global swine industry, internationally acclaimed for bringing science-driven solutions to the complex challenges facing the industry. He presented his research topic: Heat No Service: Reproductive lifetime performance of gilts inseminated on first versus second observed estrus in commercial piglet producing herds.
