Mr. Bernard O. Oloo, a lecturer from the Department of Dairy, Food Science and Technology, attended the 1st Congress of Global Harmonization Initiative (GHI) held in Leiden, the Netherlands between 24th and 28th March 2019. The Congress whose main theme was Food Safety and Security attracted top scientists in the food industry, academia, Funding agencies and world-class publishers. Mr. Oloo made a presentation on “METAGENOMIC CHARACTERIZATION OF MICROBIAL COMMUNITIES FROM DIFFERENT NODES OF INDIGENOUS CHICKEN VALUE CHAIN IN KENYA”. He also co-chaired a Session on Microbiology. As the ambassador of Egerton University to GHI, Bernard created significant networks that will see potential collaborations with the University.
