Egerton University Medical Students Take Oath of Service

Health is a very crucial sector in the country. In order to assure vigilance, commitment, dedication and professionalism to humanity, health practitioners are expected to take oath of service.  Egerton University through its Faculty of Health Sciences organized the Oath taking Ceremony on 29th April 2019 at Nakuru Town Campus College. Members of the Medical Board, Clinical Officers Council and Nursing Council and officials from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) represented by the Chairperson and Secretary General Dr. Samuel Oroko and Dr. Ouma Olunga respectively, attended the annual event. In attendance was Prof. Dr. Lukoye Atwoli, Dean, School of Medicine, Moi University. In his speech, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs) Prof. A. K. Kahi alluded to the importance of taking oaths in the health sector. He assured all the medical bodies present that the university has successfully trained the health officers and they were given top-notch personnel molded to handle serious health crisis like cancer. The DVC urged the student-health officers to be the kind of professionals they would love to meet. Egerton University continues to unleash competent professionals into various sectors in the country and globe at large.
