Change of Guard as Faculties Welcome New Deans

A lot of activities have been brewing across several faculties this year. The most of them all is the Deans elections and appointments. Prof. Moses N. Gichuki takes the mantle from Prof. Julius Kipkemboi as the Dean Faculty of Science. Prof. Gichuki ails from the department of Mathematics. Faculty of Science has had tremendous achievements under the tenure of Prof. Kipkemboi and the university is very optimistic in achieving even more with Prof Gichuki.
Faculty of Education and Community Studies brought in Prof. Joseph M. Wamutitu from the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Educational Management as Dean in a very competitive election. Prof. Wamutitu replaces Dr. Maurice Udoto who has also served as the University Industry and Liaisons Officer.
While at the Faculty of Environment and Resources Development, Prof. Elias K. Maranga resumes office as the new Dean after the second term of Prof. Gilbert Obwoyere ends. Prof. Maranga from the Department of Natural Resources comes at a time when the university has incorporated environmental conservation as one of its core values, meaning the faculty is at stake in propelling this agenda.
Dr. Ruth A. Aura has been appointed new Dean Faculty of Law after the founding Dean Prof. Machael Wabwile successfully completed his two terms. Dr. Aura is trusted with the new faculty to enroll more students and offer competitive programs that will release competent learned friends to the ever-busy legal sector.
Dr. Jane N. Mburu from the Department of Veterinary Surgery, Theriogenology and Medicine has also been appointed Dean Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. She is coming in after Prof. Inyagwa C. Muleke whose second term ended last month. Dr. Mburu is tasked to increase the vibrancy of the faculty offering pioneer programs of Egerton University.
With the new bosses at the faculties, we believe new ideas will be developed to enhance achieving our core objective of transforming humanity through quality education. As a Division, we congratulate the incumbents and wish the predecessors the best in other activities.
