First years are Oriented into the System

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Rose A. Mwonya flanked by The DVC (AA) Prof. Alexander Kahi, The DVC (R&E) Prof. Alfred C. Kibor, The Principal Nakuru Town Campus Prof. Lena Nakhone, faculty deans, departmental heads, staff and the student governing council stood together in welcoming the first years during the orientation exercise. The students have been taken through a rigorous and extensive insight into the various school policies, exam practices and the general code of conduct in the institution. The students turned out in large numbers throughout the week-long exercise organized by The Dean of Students’ office.

The DVC (AA) Prof. Alexander Kahi emphasized on the need of students exhibiting competences in fields of communication, entrepreneurship and ethics in profession to make them Egretonians. The DVC (R&E) Prof. Alfred C. Kibor urged the students not to forget where they came from while The Principal Nakuru Town Campus Prof. Lena Nakhone felt the need of students forging beneficial alliances now for future prospects.

The activity is carried out annually at the beginning of every academic year to help the incoming students familiarize themselves with the school environment and beware of what’s expected of them. With the intensity of the exercise, it’s inevitable that our students have a solid ground to build their education on.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Rose A. Mwonya who was the chief guest gave a history of the institution, its management structure and their operations. She asked the students to “put everything in perspective”. She also shared on the need for students to observe examination discipline, discovering passion, embracing different cultures and breeding brotherly affection among the Egerton family. Welcome first years!
