The Faculty of Education and Community Studies of Egerton University hosts The Educational Management Society of Kenya (EMSK)

The seventh annual International Conference for Education Managers between 3rd and 4th October 2019 was this year hosted by Egerton University at the Faculty of Education Complex. The conference was attended by stakeholders from all sectors of education including Educational Management Society of Kenya members, the Teachers Service Commission, the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, The Kenya National Examination Council, The Ministry of Education, lecturers from both private and public universities within Kenya, NGO’s, students, support groups among others. The event was themed at fostering ‘education reforms for sustainable development’.

Among the issues discussed were the role of Education Managers in the Big 4 agenda, Strategic planning in Education, Competency Based Education in Kenya, Politics and Development in Education, ICT in education, Inclusivity, Student leadership in Educational institutions, Transformative Leadership for Enhanced University Educational Management just to name a few.

The event created a platform for contribution of informed ideas through addressing of pertinent issues for policy formulation, tackling educational challenges and stimulating growth in Educational Management in Kenya. It also set precedence for the showcasing of relevant research exhibits and innovations for national development.
